This RescAlert Privacy & Cookie Policy was last modified on July 30, 2026.
This Privacy & Cookie Policy (“Policy”) describes how RescAlert Inc., doing business as Overwatch by RescAlert™ (“RescAlert,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), collects, uses, and protects information in connection with our websites and the following products and services:
Sections below describe how each product or feature handles data. Where a section doesn’t apply to a product or service you use, the general principles in this Policy still apply to it.
1. Information We Collect
Depending on which of our products or services you use, we may collect: account information (name, email, organization, role); business and billing information for client organizations we serve; content you submit through a product (such as messages, files, or configuration data); and technical information needed to operate a product (such as device status, IP addresses, or session identifiers). Product-specific collection is described in the sections below.
2. We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information
RescAlert does not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. This applies across all products and services listed in this Policy, including any SMS text alert, push notification, or other messaging sent through them. Where a product uses a third-party service provider (described below), that provider processes data solely to help us provide the service — not for its own independent marketing use.
3. Cookies
Our websites and web-based products use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Where a product uses first-party analytics to understand basic usage patterns (for example, which pages are visited), that data is not used for advertising and is not shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Overwatch Fusion™ & Fusion+™
Overwatch Fusion™ and Fusion+™ are RescAlert’s infrastructure and device monitoring platforms, used by municipal, security, and other client organizations to monitor physical devices such as flood sensors, emergency sirens and giant-voice systems, flashing-light warning systems, road-closure devices, and camera/video management system (VMS) devices. Data collected relates to the devices themselves — each device’s installation location, operational status, telemetry (for example water level or flood stage from a flood sensor), configuration, and an audit trail of which authorized personnel created or updated that device’s settings — rather than the location or movement of any individual person. Where a client’s monitoring configuration includes camera or VMS devices, video is processed only as needed to deliver the contracted monitoring service and is not used to train AI models beyond what’s disclosed in this Policy. Alerts and notifications generated from Fusion/Fusion+ device events may be delivered by SMS text message, subject to the SMS section below.
5. Overwatch Responder™
Overwatch Responder™ is used by field responders and security personnel to receive dispatch alerts and incident information from RescAlert’s monitoring services. Responder collects the account and device information needed to deliver dispatch alerts to the right person (name, role, organization, and contact information such as phone number for SMS or push notification delivery).
6. Overwatch Connect™
Overwatch Connect™ is RescAlert’s mobile app (Android and iOS) through which client organizations and their personnel receive security advisories and alerts from RescAlert’s monitoring services. Connect includes, or may in the future include, optional location-sharing features that help client organizations and their personnel coordinate safety and response activity. Location data collected through Connect is used solely for that safety-coordination purpose, is visible only within your own organization, and is never sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing, advertising, or promotional purposes. Where Overwatch Connect sends alerts by SMS text message, that is subject to the SMS section below.
7. Overwatch Helix™
Overwatch Helix™ is RescAlert’s internal, employee-only AI coding assistant. It is not offered to the public or to RescAlert’s clients. Helix processes RescAlert employees’ Microsoft Entra account information (name, email, organizational role) for sign-in, conversation and session history, and code/repository access granted through each employee’s own GitHub account, solely to provide the coding-assistant service to RescAlert’s engineering team.
8. Herschel AI™
Herschel™ is RescAlert’s AI-powered operational alerting assistant for RescAlert’s client organizations. Herschel collects account information (email, display name, organization, role), conversation history, and any files a user uploads, to provide the assistant’s functionality. To generate a response, Herschel may send relevant conversation text to Anthropic (its underlying language model), and may send text to ElevenLabs (speech synthesis) or audio to Deepgram (speech recognition) — these providers act solely as data processors and do not receive account credentials. Herschel can read camera, NVR, and device status data from Overwatch Fusion/Fusion+ to support Real-Time Crime Center operations, under the same protections described above.
Face and voice identification: Herschel can optionally identify meeting participants by face or voice. This is off by default and only enabled with a user’s explicit, separate consent. Biometric data collected this way is used solely to identify participants within an organization’s own meetings, and is never shared outside RescAlert or that organization. Users may revoke this consent and delete stored face/voice profiles at any time.
9. Overwatch HostSync™
Overwatch HostSync™ is a lightweight Dynamic DNS agent installed on client and reseller machines to keep a cPanel Dynamic DNS record updated with that machine’s current public IP address. HostSync runs locally on the installed machine and communicates directly and solely with the cPanel account the installing user configures, using an API token that user supplies. That API token is stored using the operating system’s own secure credential store (Windows Credential Manager, macOS Keychain, or Linux Secret Service) and is never transmitted to RescAlert or any third party. RescAlert does not collect, receive, or have access to any data HostSync handles. HostSync includes no analytics or telemetry.
10. UBX Cloud™ & NetBackup™
UBX Cloud™ is RescAlert’s cloud infrastructure provider, hosting backend services for RescAlert’s products. NetBackup™ is a disaster-recovery and backup service offered through UBX Cloud™, used to protect client data against loss. Data handled through UBX Cloud™ or NetBackup™ is subject to the same protections described in this Policy and is not shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
11. SMS Text Alerts & Mobile Information
If you opt in to receive SMS text alerts from RescAlert through any of the products above, we collect your phone number and your consent solely to send you the operational alerts you signed up for. Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent are never shared or sold to any third party or affiliate for marketing or promotional purposes, under any circumstances. Opting in to SMS alerts is entirely voluntary and is never a condition of using RescAlert’s services. Message frequency varies and message/data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages, or HELP for help.
12. Your Choices
You can ask your organization’s administrator to delete your account, or manage individual content (such as chat sessions, uploaded files, or stored biometric profiles) yourself from within the relevant product. You may opt out of SMS alerts at any time by replying STOP, or by asking an administrator to remove your contact information.
13. Children’s Privacy
RescAlert’s products and services are intended for use by adults acting on behalf of RescAlert or its client organizations, and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
14. Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect the information described in this Policy. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy as our products evolve. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “last modified” date above.
